About McAdams Haven
McAdams Haven is DAHC’s most ambitious supportive housing community yet. It is named in honor of Linnie McAdams, the founder of DAHC and the first woman of color to serve on the Denton City Council. Her leadership and commitment to expanding access to safe, stable housing continue to guide this organization. The community will provide 84 fully furnished studio apartments for Denton County residents exiting homelessness.
McAdams Haven will honor the historic Quakertown community. Through intentional use of color, design, and art, the development will celebrate the resilience, culture, and contributions of the families who once called Quakertown home. This theme creates a welcoming environment rooted in local history and community pride.
Each home is paired with onsite supportive services, mental health care, and dedicated community spaces that empower residents to rebuild stability at their own pace.
Designed in collaboration with Denton County MHMR and trusted community partners, McAdams Haven reflects years of planning, learning, and listening. The goal is simple. Create a stable home and a supportive environment where residents can heal, regain confidence, and move toward long-term independence.

Why Denton County Needs McAdams Haven Now
Denton County is growing rapidly, and the supply of affordable homes has not kept up with the needs of the community. Shelters and service providers are stretched thin, and hundreds of residents are waiting for a safe and stable place to call home. Many of these neighbors face significant barriers to securing housing on their own, including disabilities, mental health needs, and long periods of housing instability.
McAdams Haven directly responds to this gap by creating 84 supportive homes for residents who are ready for stability but need the right environment to succeed. Each resident will have a private, fully furnished studio along with onsite supportive services that help them maintain housing, rebuild routines, and work toward long-term goals within a community that believes in their potential.
By expanding supportive housing in Denton County, McAdams Haven provides a clear path from instability to stability. This development strengthens the entire community by ensuring more of our neighbors can heal, reconnect, and move forward with confidence.
