About Us

Denton Affordable Housing Corporation has been creating stable, affordable homes for residents of Denton County since 1995. Our work includes developing, owning, and managing housing that provides people with both stability and support. Over the past three years, we have continued to strengthen and expand our portfolio with a particular focus on permanent supportive housing and homes for low-income households.

During this time, we have operated 98 scattered-site units across Denton County. These homes serve individuals, families, seniors, and people with disabilities who need stability and a path forward. Many residents arrive after facing significant housing challenges, and our role is to ensure they have a safe place to call home and the support needed to move toward long-term stability.

DAHC takes a holistic approach to housing. We know that a home is only the first step. Residents often need access to resources that support well-being, health, and self-sufficiency. Our supportive services help residents navigate daily challenges, build confidence, reconnect with community, and reach their goals. This approach has proven effective in helping people remain housed and move toward a future they choose for themselves.

Opening Doors to Affordable Housing Across Denton County

Denton County is a place filled with possibility. It is home to people who work hard, look out for their neighbors, and believe in building strong communities together. Yet for many residents, the foundation they need to thrive has not always been within reach. Too many families, seniors, and individuals have struggled to find housing that is both stable and affordable. DAHC was created more than 30 years ago as a response to this need and as a promise to the community that everyone deserves a stable place to call home.

From our earliest days, our work has been centered on dignity, belonging, and opportunity. Our first development, a set of 16 fully accessible ADA units for individuals with disabilities, reflected a core belief that guides us today. When people have a safe home that meets their needs, they have a stronger chance to realize their full potential and contribute to the community they love.

Today, DAHC is leading Denton County’s first Permanent Supportive Housing complex. This project reflects years of collaboration and listening. It also reflects our belief that when people have a stable home and support that meets their needs, they can rebuild their lives, reconnect with community, and contribute their strengths to our shared future.

Our story is still unfolding. The need for affordable housing in Denton County continues to rise, and the opportunity to shape a stronger, more inclusive community has never been greater. DAHC remains committed to ensuring every neighbor has a stable home, the support they need to thrive, and the chance to participate fully in the life of this community.

We invite you to join us in this work. Together, we can build a Denton County where stability is possible for everyone, and where every person has the opportunity to reach their full potential and strengthen the community we share.

As Denton County has grown, the pressures on housing have grown with it. Every year, more residents find themselves one challenge away from losing their stability. DAHC has continued to respond by building, acquiring, and managing affordable homes in neighborhoods across the county. Each home represents more than a roof or an address. It represents a foundation for health, employment, education, and long-term well-being.

During the pandemic, we witnessed firsthand how deeply housing impacts every part of life. Many residents needed more than a home. They needed help navigating unexpected loss, health concerns, and a rapidly changing world. We have provided supportive services for nearly 30 years, originally focused on residents living in properties designated for individuals with disabilities. In 2023, we expanded this work to serve all residents so more neighbors could stay housed, stay connected, and stay hopeful. We expanded again in 2025 as the need for stability and support continued to grow.
